Atalanta faced a loss in the UEFA Champions League, League Phase on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at Lotto Park in Brussels. Even the outcomes from other matches couldn't change the course of a night that began poorly and only got worse; not even the arrival of Scamacca could rejuvenate the Nerazzurri.

The crucial goal was scored in the 70th minute: a free-kick just outside the box for the home side, where El Hadj sent in a curling cross to the far post. Anan Khalaili perfectly timed his run and struck a first-time shot with his right foot, beating Atalanta's goalkeeper Marco Sportiello.
