As a result, Napoli has been eliminated from the Champions League. Nevertheless, the fans showed their support by applauding the team to lift their spirits. Napoli says goodbye to the tournament, unable to secure a spot among the top 24 teams and finishing in 30th place. A defeat at the Maradona Stadium had not occurred since December 8, 2024, when they lost at home to Lazio. We can say that Napoli had a brilliant first half against the world champions Chelsea, turning around Enzo Fernandez's penalty with a stunning goal from Vergara (his first for Napoli) and another goal from Hojlund. However, in the second half, the substitutions made by Rosenior changed the game: Palmer came on, and the match shifted thanks to the English talent, who assisted João Pedro twice. João Pedro was the standout player of the match with his two goals that ultimately led to Napoli's exit from the Champions League.     SSC NAPOLI (ITA) 2 - 3 CHELSEA FC (ENG) Diego Armando Maradona Stadium Wednesday 28 January 2026 Naples, Ialy 21:00 Referee: Clément Turpin FRA Assistant Referee 1: Nicolas Danos FRA Assistant Referee 2: Benjamin Pagès FRA Fourth Official: Ruddy Buquet FRA Video Assistant Referee: Jérôme Brisard FRA Assistant Video Assistant Referee: Bastien Dechepy FRA UEFA Referee Observer: Karen Nalbandyan ARM UEFA Delegate: Irakli Nakaidze GEO ⚽️ Goals:  19' Enzo Fernandez (C) (pen), 33'  Antonio Vergara (N), 43' Rasmus Hojlund (N), 61, 82' Joao Pedro (C). 🟨  Yellow Cards:  Juan Jesus, Elmas, Fofana. ✅  Official Lineups - Formations - Tabellino: Lineup NAPOLI: Meret; Di Lorenzo, Juan Jesus (Gutierrez 67), Buongiorno; Spinazzola (Beukema 82), Lobotka, McTominay, Olivera; Vergara, Elmas (Lukaku 82) Hojlund.
