Genoa triumphed over Cagliari on Monday, January 12, 2026, at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium during Serie A Week 20. With this victory, Genoa accumulated 19 points, placing them in 15th position, while Cagliari also holds 19 points but sits in 16th place. Both teams are now five points above the relegation zone.  Looking ahead, the next matchday features Cagliari facing Juventus and Parma taking on Genoa.

This was undoubtedly a strong win for Genoa, marking their return to form after more than a month without a victory. It also represents their second home win under the guidance of Daniele De Rossi.

Genoa opened the scoring in the 7th minute when Lorenzo Colombo found the net with a left-footed shot from the left side of the box, sending the ball to the center of the goal, thanks to an assist from Ruslan Malinovskyi.



The second goal came in the 75th minute, with Morten Frendrup scoring a left-footed shot from outside the box into the bottom left corner.



 

Cagliari struggled to respond, and Genoa extended its lead with a third goal in the 78th minute. Leo Østigård scored with a shot from the center of the box to the center of the goal, assisted by Aarón Martín.
