Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Parma, 14th position with 5 points and a negative goal difference of -3
Lecce, 20th position with 2 points and a negative goal difference of -6

Lecce achieved their first victory of the season by defeating Parma! Lecce triumphed in Serie A Week 6 on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the Ennio Tardini Stadium in Parma. They secured their first three crucial points in the standings, allowing Eusebio Di Francesco's squad to equal Parma with 5 points. However, Cuesta's team was held to a draw after their initial win against Torino.

Lecce's victory came from a goal by Riccardo Sottil in the 38th minute. The former AC Milan and Fiorentina player netted the winning goal with a cross-shot that caught goalkeeper Suzuki off guard. Sottil scored with a right-footed shot from long distance, placing it in the bottom right corner. He was assisted by Antonino Gallo.

Parma, under Cuesta, made several attempts but never seemed particularly threatening, resulting in them leaving the pitch with zero points after the sixth matchday of the season.

Following the break, Parma will face Genoa at the Ferraris stadium: the match is set for Sunday the 19th at 15:00. Lecce will welcome Sassuolo on Saturday the 18th at 15:00.

Statistics before the game

In the 20 Serie A matches between Parma and Lecce during the 2000s, both teams have only failed to score once: a 0-0 draw in January 2000. Since that match, they have combined for 64 goals (38 for Parma and 26 for Lecce), averaging 3.4 goals per match.

Parma has gone unbeaten in seven (W3 D4) of their last eight Serie A matches at the Tardini, with their latest victory against Torino (2-1). Carlos Cuesta's squad could achieve consecutive home wins for the first time in the tournament since January 2020, when they faced Lecce and Udinese.

Parma's last league match ended in a win against Torino (2-1), and they have the chance to secure back-to-back victories in Serie A for the first time since their return to the top flight (starting in 2024/25). The last time this occurred in the competition was in July 2020 (against Napoli and Brescia).

Lecce has only managed to win three of their 26 Serie A matches (D10, L13) against Parma; they have played more matches against Milan (39) and Roma (38) in the tournament but have won fewer (two against both the Rossoneri and the Roman club).

This season, Lecce has not won any of their five matches (D2, L3); they have only failed to win their first six Serie A matches of the season three times: in 1985/86, 1993/94, and 2022/23. However, in the last instance, the Giallorossi managed to avoid relegation, finishing that season in 16th place.
