Spain and Italy played to a draw in the UEFA Under 21 Championship at the Štadión Antona Malatinského on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, in Slovakia. After victories over Romania and Slovakia, Carmine Nunziata’s Italy U21 team was unable to defeat Spain in the European Under 21 Championship. Santi Denia’s Rojita only required a draw (with goals from Rodriguez and Pisilli) to secure a spot in the quarterfinals as the top team in Group A.

As a result, the Azzurrini finished the group stage in second place and will face either Germany or England from Group B (with Germany currently in the lead) in the match scheduled for Sunday, June 22.

Spain took the lead in the 53rd minute, thanks to a perfect assist from Moro, allowing Jesús Rodriguez to score with a central shot using his right foot.

Italy equalized in the 59th minute with a stunning diagonal goal from Roma’s Niccolò Pisilli, who skillfully controlled the ball from Ghilardi, dribbled past Marin, and shot with his right foot, marking his first goal with the Under 21s. Great job!
