Ventura to meet Milan, Lazio and Inter. Anticipation grows ahead of France friendly in Bari

The newly appointed Italy head coach Gian Piero Ventura will continue his series of meetings with Serie A clubs over the next days with the aim of sharing the upcoming Azzurri programme with the managers and players. Italy will take to pitch six times between September and November, with four 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Israel, Spain, FYR Macedonia and Liechtenstein, as well as two friendlies against France (Bari, 1st September) and Germany (venue to be determined, 15th November).

Ventura will be in Milanello tomorrow to visit AC Milan along with team Manager Gabriele Oriali and assistant coaches Salvatore Sullo and Paolo Vanoli; a visit to meet Lazio in Formello is scheduled for the following day. The last meeting before the Azzurri training camp starts on 28th August will see Ventura meet with Inter on 24th August. Italy’s new manager has already visited Juventus, Atalanta, Genoa, Napoli and Roma and will continue with his meetings after Italy’s two September fixtures.

Meanwhile, anticipation keeps growing ahead of the France friendly, which will be Ventura’s debut as Italy’s head coach. The friendly is a real world football classic as the sides met in a European Championship final (2000) and in a World Cup final (2006) and is due to take place at the Stadio San Nicola in Bari on 1st September. The sale of tickets, which has so far recorded good figures, is ongoing. More information here.
