Italy: Ventura calls up Petagna after Bernardeschi and Gabbiadini both ruled out

Prior to their two upcoming fixtures, Italy’s national team gathered at Coverciano yesterday. The Azzurri will take part in a World Cup qualifier against Albania on Friday 24 in Palermo, before then playing the Netherlands in a friendly in Amsterdam.

There have been two recent withdrawals from the Italy squad, with Bernardeschi and Gabbiadini both suffering injuries over the weekend. Coach Gian Piero Ventura has subsequently called-up Atalanta attacker Andrea Petagna.

The squad will complete their first training session this afternoon.
