Mission accomplished. Italy ended the UEFA Euro 2024 Qualifiers with a goalless draw on Monday 20 November 2023 at the Bay Arena in Leverkusen, Germany. Italy needed just 1 point for the direct qualification and they did it. Italy will have to defend the title as reigning champions. Italy ended in the 2nd position with 14 points and a goal difference of +7 while Ukraine remained in the third position with 14 points and less goals difference than Italy. Ukraine are in the play-offs.
✅ Stats before the game: In nine matches against Ukraine, Italy has achieved seven wins and two draws; among the teams against which they have never lost, the Italian national team has only faced Malta (10W) and Turkey (9W, 3D) several times.
