Italy pulled one back in the 49th minute when Moise Kean scored with a right-footed strike into the bottom left corner. A misplayed pass from Sané to Kimmich went directly to Kean, who skillfully positioned the ball on his right foot and fired a powerful shot from the edge of the penalty area. Baumann had no chance to stop it, and Italy closed the gap.
