Italy vs. Spain: UEFA to present De Rossi with a prize for topping 100 international appearances

Before the European Qualifier between Italy and Spain tomorrow at 20:45 CEST at Turin’s Juventus Stadium, UEFA will award a prize to Daniele De Rossi for making over 100 international appearances.

The Roma player picked up his 107th cap on Thursday 1st September during the friendly with France. His debut came on 4th September 2004 in Palermo against Norway and he has scored 18 Italy goals and only Baloncieri with his tally of 25 goals has scored more from midfield.

Crowned as a world champion in 2006, De Rossi has played in three World Cups (2006, 2010 and 2004) and three European Championships (2008, 2012 and 2016) along with two Confederations Cups (2009 and 2013). Before, he also represented the Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21 sides with whom he won the 2004 European title after scoring in the 3-0 final win over Serbia and Montenegro. A bronze Olympic medal is also on his honours list from the 2004 Athens games.
