Italian Soccer Serie A supports Italy National Team
Italy Head Coach Roberto Mancini is pleased with the away victory of the Italian National team defeating Greece on Saturday 8 June 2019. The match is for the UEFA European Qualifiers.
Italy leads Group J with 9 points and a positive goal difference of +11 followed by Finland in the second position with points and a positive goal difference of +2.
At the end of the match, Mancini declared that “We’re starting to improve. We did well to control the game like that. We could have pushed a bit more, we managed the lead too much. We did well not to concede but we can do more.”
As for his decision to start with Napoli forward Lorenzo Insigne: “He was brilliant in the week and proved it today. We’re ahead of schedule with our project but there’s still a lot of work to do.”
Mancini also congratulated the Italy Under-20 team following their progression to the World Cup semi-finals, while also wishing the best of luck to Milena Bertolini’s Azzurre ahead of the World Cup debut against Australia.
