Italy, after failing to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup lost also the FINALISSIMA. Italy as European Champions living a total nightmare. Italy lost the Finalissima against Copa América champions Argentina at Wembley in London England on Wednesday 1 June 2022. Italy lost their fourth consecutive game against Argentina. At this point, it is a moment to reflect and take drastic decisions on rebuilding the New Italy.
A sour return to Wembley, in the stadium where Italy won the European champion less than a year ago. For the first time since 1993, the European champion Italy and last Copa America champion return to face each other, as it happened the last time 29 years ago (when it was originally named Artemio Franchi Cup in honor of a great Italian sports administrator).
Congratulations to 🇦🇷 Serie A players with Argentina for winning the FINALISSIMA: Juan Musso (Atalanta), Nahuel Molina (Udinese), Nehuén Pérez (Udinese), Nicolás González (Fiorentina), Paulo Dybala (Juventus), Joaquín Correa (Inter), and Lautaro Martínez (Inter).

It is certainly a memorable match for Giorgio Chiellini, who leaves the national team in this very final. Ideally, Chiellini would love to say goodbye by adding his last trophy with the Azzurri. Before the Finalissima, President Gabriele Gravina presented the Captain with a trophy to acknowledge his extraordinary career with the National Team making 117 appearances, level with Daniele De Rossi in the all-time standings.

What a sour way to return to WEMBLEY! Sadly, Italy lost failing to redeem themselves after being left out of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Positive points are great performances by Serie A players Lautaro Martinez and Paulo Dybala scoring for Argentina. REBUILD ITALY, the mission. pic.twitter.com/v9pKAotIDU
