Conte: “The score line was harsh, the result doesn’t change anything for us.”

Football became of secondary importance, following the events in Paris tonight. Conte was informed just before the press conference, and there is significant concern looking ahead to the EUROs. “These are very serious events,” he commented, “It’s worrying, there is no doubt. It is a very scary situation.”
Marchisio commended Italy’s performance: “Our performance dropped in the second half, but we expected a tough challenge from this Belgium side. They are among the favourites for the EUROs and they have been playing good football in the last two years. Nevertheless, I am very pleased in terms of how we played. If you analyse it carefully, we played very well despite the fact that the scoreline suggests an easy Belgium win. We created a lot of chances in the first half, but were not able to convert some of them, and in some cases their goalkeeper pulled out great saves. They won deservedly but there many good things that we can take from the game looking ahead to the EUROs.”     ]]>
