Belgium vs. Italy to be held in Brussels on 13th November to remember the Heysel tragedy

Italy will mark their comeback to Belgium in the stadium that once was known as Heysel. The Azzurri will remember all victims of the European Cup final between Juventus and Liverpool, which was held on 29th May 1985. Conflicts at the stadium caused the death of 39 fans, 32 from Italy, and left more than 600 wounded – a tragedy that will never be forgotten.
Italy and Belgium have met 20 times, with the Azzurri boasting better figures in this head-to-head: Italy have won 13 meetings, drawn four and lost three. The last clash between these two sides took place in Florence on 30th May 2008 and saw the Azzurri prevail 3-1.
Italy have played three times at the King Baudouin Stadium, twice during the 2000 European Championship, as the Azzurri beat Belgium and Romania 2-0. The other match was a friendly against Mexico held on 2nd June 2010 that saw the Azzurri prevail 2-1.   ]]>
