MILAN – It was the latest in a long line of successes for Italian fencing. Italy’s women’s foil team beat Russia 45-39 in yesterday’s final at the World Fencing Championships currently being held in Kazan. Key to this triumph were Nerazzurri fans Valentina Vezzali and Arianna Errigo: together with their foil partners Elisa Di Francisca and Martina Batina they continue to fly the Italian flag abroad proudly, reaffirming the Azzurri’s supremacy in the sport.
