Inter ending the Champions League Group Stage Group D Matchday 2 game with a goalless draw against Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday 28 September 2021 at the NSC Olimpiyskiy in Kiev, Ukraine. This will be the sixth game between Shakhtar Donetsk and Inter in European competition, with the Ukrainian side still looking for their first win (3 draws, 2 lost).  Inter and Shakhtar Donetsk were drawn in the same Champions League group for the second consecutive season.
