Stats before the game.  Inter have won the last two matches played against Lazio and have not achieved three consecutive successes against the Biancocelesti since the period between May 2008 and May 2009 (one in the Italian Cup and two in Serie A in that case). Inter and Lazio have faced each other twice in the Italian Super Cup, with two wins for the Biancocelesti: 4-3 in September 2000 and 2-1 in August 2009 – the Capitoline club are the only ones to have beaten the Nerazzurri twice in this competition . Inter have brought home the trophy on the last two occasions in which they have played in the Italian Super Cup, in 2022 and 2023 – however, the Nerazzurri have never achieved three consecutive successes in the competition (also two between 2005 and 2006). All eight matches played by Lazio in the Italian Super Cup ended in regulation time; the Biancocelesti have won on five occasions, including the two most recent ones, and lost three times. Inter is the Serie A team with the most victories in all competitions 23/24 (19 out of 27 games played) and the one with the most goals scored in total (58, over two on average per game).
