Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Inter, 2nd position with 74 points and a positive goal difference of +40
Torino, 11th position with 44 points and a negative goal difference of -1

It’s Torino-Inter day at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino! Inter won this exciting Serie A Week 36 match on Sunday, May 11, 2025, in Turin. Inter secured a 2-0 victory over Torino.  The Nerazzurri now have 77 points (Antonio Conte’s squad later increased their lead to +1 with a draw against Genoa).

The Granata couldn’t bounce back after two days, missing the chance to close the gap to Como, who sit in tenth place, by just one point. Inzaghi, coming off a remarkable win in the Champions League against Barcelona, led his team to victory over Vanoli with goals from Zalewski in the 14th minute of the first half and Asllani from a penalty in the 4th minute of the second half.

Meanwhile, the Granata are eager to bounce back after two games without a win, hoping to narrow the distance to Como, who sit tenth in the standings, to just one point. Vanoli is set to take on Inzaghi, who recently celebrated a remarkable victory in the Champions League against Barcelona, securing a spot in the final against PSG.

Inter took the lead in the 14th minute when Nicola Zalewski found the back of the net with a right-footed shot into the bottom right corner, assisted by Alessandro Bastoni. It was a fantastic curling shot from distance that Milinkovic-Savic couldn’t stop. This marks the first goal for the former Roma player in his new black and blue colors.

In the 49th minute, Kristjan Asllani scored a penalty with a right-footed shot into the bottom left corner. The penalty was awarded after goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic fouled Mehdi Taremi in the box. Inter was granted a penalty as Milinkovic-Savic brought down Taremi during a one-on-one situation. The Torino keeper received a yellow card for the foul.

Stats before the game:

Inter have won just one of their last seven away games (D3 L3) in Serie A after eight straight away wins. Since February, only Fiorentina have done worse (four points) away from home among the teams in the top half of the table.

Torino had a solid run with five positive outcomes (two wins and three draws), but they’ve faced a tough time against Inter, losing ten out of their last eleven Serie A encounters, with just one draw. Since the 2019/20 season, Inter has been the team that has handed the Granata the most defeats in the top Italian league, with two more losses than any other rival.

Inter has triumphed in their last five Serie A encounters with Torino, achieving four clean sheets. The only time the Nerazzurri have secured more consecutive wins against the Granata in Serie A was during a streak of seven victories from September 2002 to September 2008.
