👉 Inter crushed Lecce in the Serie A Week 22 on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at the Via del Mare Stadium in Lecce, Italy. Inter made a strong statement, signaling that they are still very much in the race for the Scudetto. Following Napoli’s victory over Juventus, Inter responded by narrowing the gap to just -3 points, now sitting at 50 points compared to Napoli’s 53. With a game in hand against Fiorentina, Inzaghi’s squad celebrated their third consecutive win across Serie A and the Champions League.
Meanwhile, Lecce faced their second straight defeat in the league, conceding four goals in both matches. They remain at 20 points, just one point above third-from-last Verona, who could potentially surpass them with a win against Venezia tomorrow. Inter’s victory was straightforward, with the team netting two goals in each half. They took an early lead just six minutes in, thanks to Frattesi, who received a perfect assist from Thuram. Although Thuram later missed a clear chance, Inter continued to press.
Inter had two goals disallowed for offside before Lautaro Martinez scored a stunning left-footed goal in the 39th minute. Dumfries added a third in the 57th minute, assisted by Martinez’s clever back-heel. Just three minutes later, after Frattesi was fouled in the box, Taremi, who had just come on, converted the penalty to seal a 4-0 victory.
Inter grabbed the advantage in the 6th minute when Davide Frattesi found the back of the net with a close-range right-footed shot. Marcus Thuram provided the assist. Guilbert made a critical mistake, inadvertently setting up Thuram. The French player made his way into the box, targeted Baschirotto, and then laid it off for Frattesi, who easily slotted it home to extend the Nerazzurri’s lead.

The celebration for the Nerazzurri goes on! In the 39th minute, Lautaro Martínez, the Argentine striker, found the back of the net with a stunning left-footed shot into the top right corner. Piotr Zielinski set him up perfectly after stealing the ball from Pierret. Zielinski then passed it to Lautaro, who skillfully shifted the ball to his left foot and unleashed a powerful strike from the edge of the box, placing it just under the top corner.
It’s truly a pleasure to see Lautaro Martínez in action. He always shines on the field and plays a crucial role in guiding the team.
