🏆👉  Inter ended the UEFA Champions League Semifinal First Leg with a draw on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys in Barcelona, Spain. Marcus Thuram has set a record by scoring the quickest goal ever in a semi-final, just 30 seconds into the match. The final score was a 3-3 draw. Yamal marked his 100th game with Barcelona by wearing a special shirt. While Barça celebrates, their joy is tempered. The second leg promises to be a fierce contest on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.

A key moment from the match: Simone Inzaghi celebrated his fiftieth Champions League appearance as a coach, making him the seventh Italian to achieve this impressive milestone, setting a record for his country.

Historically, Barcelona and Inter have clashed 16 times in European tournaments, with the Spanish team securing victory in half of those encounters (W8 D5 L3). However, the Catalans have struggled recently, not winning their last two matches in the 2022/23 Champions League group stage (0-1 away, 3-3 at home).

Wow, is this real?! Inter quieted the stadium with an incredibly quick goal less than a minute into the game! Marcus Thuram scored with a right-footed shot into the bottom left corner, assisted by Denzel Dumfries. What a wild lead for Inter: only 30 seconds in, Dumfries provided the assist from the right, and Thuram backheeled it from the center to outsmart Szczesny. What a brilliant goal!

In the 21st minute, Inter found their inspiration and raised the score to 0-2. Denzel Dumfries netted a close-range goal with a right-footed shot aimed at the top center of the net. The assist came from Francesco Acerbi, who delivered a header after a corner kick given away by Iñigo Martínez.

In the 24th minute, Barcelona closed the gap as Lamine Yamal found the net with a left-footed strike into the bottom left corner. What a wild night in Barcelona: Yamal brings the excitement back. The Barça champion, marking his hundredth professional appearance with the team, intercepts the ball from Barella, drives into the box, and levels the score with a stunning left-footed shot. Three goals, each more spectacular than the previous one. Sommer is left helpless against the incredible shot from the Barcelona star.

In the 38th minute, Ferran Torres brought Barcelona level with a close-range right-footed shot into the bottom left corner, assisted by Raphinha’s header.

In the 63rd minute, Inter regains the lead with a second goal. Denzel Dumfries found the net with a header into the top left corner, assisted by Hakan Çalhanoglu’s cross after a corner given away by Ronald Araujo.

What a twist! In the 65th minute, an own goal by Inter goalkeeper Yann Sommer brings the score to 3-3. This match is absolutely wild: Rafinha takes a shot from way outside, the ball hits the crossbar, bounces off Sommer’s back, and finds its way into the net!

Stats before the game

This marks just the second encounter between Barcelona and Inter in the knockout rounds of the European Cup/Champions League, with both teams advancing to the semi-finals. Their last clash was in the 2009/10 season when José Mourinho’s Nerazzurri knocked out the defending champions with a 3-2 aggregate score (3-1 at San Siro, 0-1 at Camp Nou).

Barcelona has not lost any of their six home matches against Inter in the Champions League, with five wins and one draw. This five-win streak against the Nerazzurri matches their record against a single opponent in the tournament, which they also achieved against Milan. The only team they have faced more times at home without a loss is Chelsea, whom they have played seven times.

Barcelona has not lost any of their six home matches in this Champions League, winning five and drawing one, while netting 21 goals overall. The only time they scored more at home in a single tournament was in the 1999/2000 season, where they tallied 29 goals in eight matches.
