FLORENCE – After the final whistle had blown in Inter’s 3-0 defeat to Fiorentina, Ranocchia spoke to the media about his impressions of the match. “We went behind to two early goals and didn’t do enough to react. It was like taking two right-handers to the chin in the first round of a boxing match – it’s tough to come back from that!” he said.
“They were both unstoppable hits as well. The coach and all the players are really disappointed, but now we need to push on. After moments like these we need to stick together and get our heads down,” confirmed the Inter captain.
Ranocchia is already looking to the future, and in particular the Napoli match at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza after the international break: “The break will do us good; we were tired after the last few games. Napoli will be a tough match but it’ll be a home so we will be confident.”
The Nerazzurri defender was at pains to emphasise the togetherness of the group: “We’re right behind the coach; we’re on a journey together. We’ll be ready after the international break.”
