Primavera, Inter 3-0 Cagliari

SESTO SAN GIOVANNI – After two consecutive draws in the league and last Wednesday’s shootout victory over Fiorentina in the cup, Inter’s Primavera side got back to winning ways with a resounding 3-0 success over Cagliari this afternoon.

Stefano Vecchi’s boys quickly took control of proceedings and had established a two-goal advantage inside the first quarter of an hour.

First Camara linked up well with Romney, burst into the box and lifted a deft finish over the onrushing keeper. Then Baldini manufactured a second entirely of his own making, leaving his man for dust on the left flank before drilling a powerful angled finish past Cherchi.

Romney was unfortunate to see his effort tipped onto the bar shortly before half time as the Nerazzurri went into the break firmly in the driving seat.

Four minutes into the second period Baldini effectively ended the game as a contest when he latched onto a loose ball and netted his second of the day.

Not that Inter stopped playing. There was still plenty of time for Cherchi to deny Romney from the spot and the left-hand upright to deny Steffè a potential fourth.

Vecchi’s boys saw out the game comfortably to move up to 32 points and stay top of the pile ahead of AC Milan. Next week the Under-19s visit Hellas Verona.
