Podolski: “See you all at San Siro”

APPIANO GENTILE – Inter welcome Genoa to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Sunday lunchtime, and Lukas Podolski can’t wait for his first taste of the San Siro atmosphere: “I’ve felt great since the second I arrived here and I can’t wait for my first match at San Siro,” declared the Nerazzurri’s new number 11.

“What do I expect to happen at the end of the season? My goal is to help Inter over the next five or six months, then I’m sure there’ll be discussions between Arsenal and Inter. Right now, I just want to focus on the present.

“We want to cut the gap between us and the leading pack, and if we all stick together we can still make third place. We’re eight points off it, but Inter is a prestigious club and must be playing in the Champions League.

“Ronaldo? Everyone knows him and he’s an idol to me. I asked him about Inter and he spoke very highly of the club. Shaqiri? He’s a great player and will certainly strengthen our attack. He’s done very well at Bayern Munich and excelled at the World Cup,” said Podolski.
