Palacio and Tassi launch 9th Oratorio Cup

MILAN – There couldn’t be a more prestigious
setting than the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza for the presentation of the 9th
edition of the Oratorio Cup, the 7-a-side football tournament dedicated to
Giacinto Facchetti and organised by CSI in collaboration with FC Internazionale and the Fondazione
Oratori Milanesi.

To underline the importance of the event, the
Nerazzurri participated with two of the most talented players from the first
team and Primavera side: Rodrigo Palacio and Lorenzo Tassi. During the
presentation, which was held in the stadium’s executive room, the Nerazzurri
players spoke of the important educational role football must take on: it should be
fun but also transmit some of life’s most fundamental values, such as friendship
and respect.

This was further explained by Rodrigo Palacio: "I’m
happy to be here for this wonderful event. I’d like to tell these youngsters to
continue to have fun while playing. But also, and most of all, to be good on
and off the pitch. This is a very important thing to remember."

These sentiments were echoed by Lorenzo Tassi,
who himself grew up playing on parish football pitches: "It was fantastic
to meet these lads here. I began playing football on parish pitches, and I have
many special memories of those days. I hope it will turn out the same for all
of you. Remember when you play that the important thing is to always enjoy
yourselves."

Another distinguished guest, a last-minute surprise addition, was entrusted to bring the
presentation to a close: Milly Moratti. She stated: "We hope our champions
are able to get a very important message across to you, that you need to be
genuine people. Although I’m sure you already are. And I’m sure we ourselves
have a lot we could learn from you lads."
