MILAN – Javier Zanetti has become a part of the team of ambassadors for Expo Milano 2015. Today the Nerazzurri’s former legendary captain –  now vice president – joins the network of spokespeople for the World Exposition. The Argentine star has decided to take a hands-on approach to the event: “I feel Italian given that I’ve lived in Milan for the last 20 years,” explained Zanetti. “This event is a great opportunity for everyone. I think the city has realised that and will definitely be proud to host this huge event and give everyone who visits Milan a very warm welcome.” In the video created to show him joining the Expo Milano 2015 team, Javier Zanetti explains what the theme of ‘Feeding the planet’ means to him: “In the midst of a global crisis, this is a very worthwhile choice of subject. Tackling the issues related to sustainability, the environment and food production means looking after our planet. I am a father to three children and I would like a better future for them. It’s a different theme to previous editions of the World Exposition but it’s essential particularly at a time where there’s a lot of inequality in the world. Expo Milano 2015 will be an example for the many countries taking part in the event.”
