Erick Thohir: “A special day”

MILAN – FC Internazionale president Erick Thohir gave an interiew as he arrived at the Stadio Meazza tonight.

Asked for his feelings and thoughts about Zanetti on such a special occasion, he explained: "Today will be very special for Zanetti and also for the team, the Moratti family and myself. That’s why we have created a special event tonight, as you can see around the stadium too. He’s going to be part of the management team but it’s very important for Inter to get maximum points from the next two games."

Have Inter decided whether to retire the No.4 shirt? "That’s a discussion we’re going to have with Moratti and the management. We want to study that, it’s possible.

"Mazzarri? He still has a contract with us and we want to work with him next season so he’ll stay.

"How important is this match? Very important! The last two games are very important."

On his trip to London: "I have a few meetings tomorrow in London, with financial institutions, with some agents of players and I’ll also support my good friend Ruben , who owns Queen’s Park Rangers We’re going to have a lot of meetings I don’t want to announce anyone until we’ve signed them.

"Inter will sign a few players. The most important thing to consider when we sign players is that we think about the next two or three years. We need to balance things here and there. We only have three wingers so we need to add another one. In midfield we need to review things. We might also need help up front, so we’ll review everything.

"Angry about the derby? I’m not angry, I feel sad of course. But coach Mazzarri always says it’s something he has to face and we respect that. It’s a difficult time to be working together."
