MILAN – Benito “Veleno” Lorenzi died aged 81 on 3 March 2007. That sad afternon Inter met Livorno at the Stadio Armando Picchi and the 2-1 was definitely for him.

He was and will always be a Nerazzurri legend: in the 1950s he won two consecutive league titles and scored 143 goals in 314 games. “Veleno” (Poison), as everyone called him, was first a superstar on the pitch, before later unearthing young talent as a coach in the academy.

Veleno, we will always remember you in black and blue.
