Andreolli: “Captain at the San Siro, a dream come true”

MILAN – It was a perfect Sunday for Marco Andreolli as Inter recorded their first win of 2015 and he wore the captain’s armband at the Meazza: “It was amazing and being captain at the San Siro was a dream come true,” the defender told Inter Channel. “We met a team that play good football, they’re aggressive and run a lot. It wasn’t easy for me and Nemanja but we’re experienced players – him especially – so it wasn’t an issue. Everything’s that much easier once you take an early lead. But in football you always need to stay switched on and their goal shows that. We have to make the step in terms of our mindset too. “In the last few games, our heads have dropped too quickly when things have gone against us. And yet when our approach has been right we’ve always come away with a result. This is something we still to need to work on. That’s the mindset we have to adopt in every match.” He was then asked if his performance today has sent out a message to the other defenders: “If the whole squad trains well and there’s healthy competition, everyone benefits. When you wear this shirt it’s important everyone feels like a starter.”
