Genoa sacked coach Aurelio Andreazzoli on 21 October 2019.  Genoa making the announcement that the new coach is Thiago Motta.

Andreazzoli’s stats were poor for the club leaving it in the 19th position: 1 win, 2 draws, and 5 lost.   Genoa lost their Serie A Week 8 game with a 5-1 which was enough for a change on Saturday 20 October 2019.
