The Italian Referee Association (AIA) has designated Referee Antonio Damato from the section of Barletta for the Serie A Week 1 game Sassuolo vs Genoa on Sunday 20 August 2017 at the Mapei Stadium in Sassuolo, Italy at 20:45.

Referee Damato will be assisted by Lorenzo Manganelli from the section of Valdarno and Luca Mondin from the section of Treviso. The fourth official will be Marco Piccinini from the section of Forli.  The VAR will be Massimiliano Irrati from the section of Pistoia and the AVAR will be Juan Luca Sacchi from the section of Macerata.
