FIFA proposed to have five substitutions to help teams with the upcoming games after the forced stopped amid the Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.  The usual mode is to have 3 substitutions.  The objective is to finish the 2019-2020 Season with a predicted heavy calendar and help the teams to avoid extreme exhaustion or injuries with players. The proposal was sent to the International Football Association Board (IFAB), which controls the Laws of the Game.
