WINNING DEBUT AT VIAREGGIO

MILANO – Milan Youth team defeated Ascoli 4-1 in their opening match of the Viareggio tournament at the Federghini Stadium in La Spezia.

The Rossoneri were immediately close to goal. From a corner delivery, Mastalli rose above the rest but his header ended onto the crossbar. In the 20th minute Livieri made a superb save to deny Orsolini. The early stage of the first half was hard-fought and balanced at La Spezia. At about half-hour Orsolini broke the deadlock for the Marche-based team. The Rossoneri reacted quite soon with Hadziosmanovic, but he failed to connect with Bianchimano at the very last moment and the action faded. In the 36th minute Quaranta was sent off for a last man foul on Hamadi inside the box, leaving Ascoli one man down. Central Capozzi replaced Ciabuschi. In the 38th Milan levelled courtesy to Gamarra who converted a penalty kick.

Just after the restart, Milan took immediately the lead thanks to La Ferrara who slotted home, beating an outcoming  D’Egidio. In the 64th minute Maldini was replaced by El Hilali, Zucchetti by Llamas and La Ferrara by  Agnero. Two minutes later, the last one tested D’Egidio with a right-footed shot which the goalkeeper blocked. In the 18th minutes some more changes for coach Brocchi: Gamarra out for Spinelli, Hadziosmanovic for Crociata. And again Bianchimano out for Casiraghi, Zanellato for Hamadi. In the final stages Crociata and Casiraghi added to the Milan’s tally to complete the 4-1 score.
