TITLE CLASHES AC Milan – AS Roma

MILAN – Down through the years meetings between Milan and Roma have always had great significance in the title race.
Milan won 6-2 at home on 28 May 1950, in the last match of the 1949-1950 season; the scorers were Nordahl (two), Rinaldi (three) and Liedholm for the Rossoneri, Bacci a penalty and Lucchesi for the visitors.
More recently in 2004, Milan won 1-0 through Andriy Shevchenko to win the league ahead of Roma and then at the Olympic stadium in May 2011 they drew for another title success. Filippo Inzaghi played in both games.

This match at the weekend will bring together the second and third teams with the most individual scorers: Roma 16 and Milan 15 different players on the scoresheet. Fiorentina lead with 18.
