PAZZINI PRAISES TEAM EFFORT

MILANELLO – Giampaolo Pazzini has been speaking about his surprise at the reaching a milestone of appearances. The striker said: “I did not know I had made 400 official appearances, when I read the statistics I took it on board. I am starting to build them up. They are a personal satisfaction. I would have to thank a lot of people so it would take time. It is difficult to say which match I remember the best, maybe my debut and my first goal. Then there is the Champions League preliminary round for Sampdoria against Werder Bremen and of course the match I played for Milan against Barcelona at the Nou Camp a year and a half ago. My objective is to score 100 goals in Serie A but I am trying not to think about that. Reaching 300 Serie A matches is also important, I am close to that.”
Pazzini continued: “The international coach has said nothing. What happened on that Saturday seemed somewhat destined to happen. I still want to keep battling away and it is not important that we play 4-3-3 or another system the most important thing is our mentality and how we approach games. We hoped these two away games would have turned out differently. We wanted to do better but we are in a stage of development. All the matches in Italy are difficult and you always have to be one hundred per cent and really determined to take your chances otherwise it is tough. After a difficult year we want to take Milan back to where it deserves to be. There is a lot of enthusiasm and we cannot cancel the last two matches. It would be good to go into the break with a win.”
Looking at the Champions League, he added: “It is strange not to see Milan in the Champions League as we are used to that on a Tuesday and Wednesday. We have to keep working on our performances. Inzaghi pays great attention to detail. We know everything about the opposition. We cannot give up and we have to battle to win on Saturday. De Sciglio and El Shaarawy are two young players who are well appreciated by the rest of the team for their approach and they have the quality to play for Milan and at international level. We have to stay relaxed and understand that in Italy there is a lot of pressure. There are no problems. The number of goals tell the story but not the whole truth. If you score it is down to everyone and if you concede the same applies. We are a team. We have conceded goals we should not have but we have to improve as a team and find that strength inside of us not to concede goals. We are a good side and it is disappointing to concede certain goals because that complicates our job.”
