FLAVIO ROMA TO THE MILAN CHANNEL: “Milan are a work in progress”

< ![CDATA[MILAN – Former Milan and Chievo player Flavio Roma spoke exclusively to the Milan Channel earlier today on a range of themes. This is what he said:"In '98-'99 when I started it was at Chievo, it was a family run club, there were very few fans, there was our sporting director Sartori and our president. Those two did it all, helped out by assistants that came through the club. Milan this season are a work in progress, those who understand football and who know players like Nesta, Zambrotta and Gattuso, who are unique, know that the club’s difficulties come from the absence of players like this. But they are difficulties taken into account by the club, they know that before finding players like this it takes time.I noted Diego Lopez when he was at Real Madrid and he’s a goalkeeper with excellent qualities. If he was chosen by Ancelotti to replace Casillas there’s a reason behind it. It’s a shame about the injury but often they’re linked to changes in training methods and the mental stress of having changed team and it can have an effect on the body.In my opinion at Cesena the synthetic pitch could have influenced the result and maybe the moment in which Cesena took the lead. I’m saying that well aware that Abbiati is not looking for excuses. The bounce though is different to that of a natural grass pitch. From January I will begin the courses to become a coach and I will begin my career post playing days."]]>
