KEEP OUR HEADS UP

MILAN – This is what was said after the team’s match away at Chievo in round 29 of Serie A:
NENAD SAKIC (press conference)"We knew Chievo would play the long-ball and that they’re a dangerous outfit from set-pieces. Having said that, they didn’t cause us too many problems. Menez is returning from a serious injury and he is not yet 100%, but he did his best for the team. Bacca is a penalty-area predator and if he had received a bit more service, he might have scored. Donnarumma took a knock and he will now have a check-up. We hope it is nothing too serious."
Milan’s assistant coach also spoke to the Milan Channel. These were his thoughts: "We did better in the second-half. We were well-organised, but we weren’t clinical enough. I think had we won, it would have been a fair outcome. Luck wasn’t on our side today. Menez has been out injured for a long time and today he worked hard. Luiz Adriano did very well when he came on, pressing their midfielders. Bacca always puts in a shift. The attitude was good, but we were unlucky at times. We can never give up. We need to keep preparing well for each match and give our all in training. There are 9 games to go and 27 points up for grabs. We cannot take our foot off the accelerator and we cannot lower our guard."
CHRISTIAN ABBIATI"I am sorry for Gigio, but I have been told he is fine and that he will be training with us tomorrow. We were ready today and we had prepared to play in a certain way, but then after the warm-up we were forced to change everything (Kucka pulled out with an injury, editor’s note). These things happen however. We played better in the second-half, but we can do more. There is still a long way to go this season, and we have to give our all and try and catch up with the sides above us in the table. I am not happy with the past two results and they are hard to take. We need to improve with our attitude and approach as we cannot be put under the kind of pressure we experienced in the opening 20 minutes. We are Milan and when you come here you have to prove yourself. We need to refind our focus. Menez is coming off the back of a serious injury while Luiz has been out for a while, but they are both working their way back to full-fitness."
