When does the 2025/26 Coppa Italia Frecciarossa commence?

The Coppa Italia for the 2025/26 season will kick off on Friday, August 9, beginning with the preliminary round featuring the match between Virtus Entella and Ternana.

On Saturday, August 10, three exciting matches are scheduled:
  • Padova vs. L.R. Vicenza
  • Pescara vs. Rimini
  • Avellino vs. Audace Cerignola
From August 15 to 18, the Serie B teams along with the first teams from Enilive Serie A will compete in the thirty-second finals.

The event kicks off on Friday the 15th at 18:00 with Empoli taking on Reggiana, and the final match will feature Torino against Modena, set for Monday the 18th at 21:15. Additionally, it’s exciting to note Milan’s debut, as they will compete against Bari at the Meazza on Sunday, August 17th at 21:15.

Possible derbies and crossovers in the draw

One of the main novelties of the new calendar is that potential derbies between Serie A teams (Inter-Milan, Roma-Lazio or Juventus-Torino) can only occur in the final, unlike what happened in the last edition when the Milan derby was played in the semi-finals.

The reigning champions Bologna, winners of the last edition against Milan, could start from the round of 16 with an evocative Emilian derby against Parma, with a possible challenge to the Rossoneri in the quarterfinals.
