Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Lazio, 4th position with 35 points and a positive goal difference of +6
Como, 16th position with 18 points and a negative goal difference of -10
Lazio marked their 125th anniversary with a draw. On Friday, January 10, 2025, they concluded Serie A Week 20 with a tie at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium in Rome, Italy. This result means Lazio has now gone three matches without a win. The Biancocelesti secured their second draw in the last three games, bringing their total to 36 points, which is four points ahead of Juventus and Fiorentina, who have played two fewer matches. Meanwhile, Como achieved their fifth positive result in the last six games, joining Verona and Parma at 19 points in the standings, two points clear of Lecce in eighteenth place.
Lazio opened the scoring in the 34th minute when Boulaye Dia found the back of the net with a left-footed shot aimed at the bottom left corner. Mattéo Guendouzi provided the assist. Gigot read the play well, intercepting Diao in the Biancoceleste’s attacking midfield, and quickly passed to Guendouzi. He took control of the ball and sent a precise vertical pass to Dia. The Senegalese forward skillfully turned, dodged Kempf’s challenge, and fired a shot into the far post, beating goalkeeper Jean Butez.

Stats before the game
This century, Lazio has triumphed in all three Serie A encounters against Como, including a dominant 5-1 victory in the first leg. Interestingly, Lazio has never managed to defeat Como in four consecutive matches within this league. At home, Lazio has secured six wins out of eight matches against Como in Serie A, with one draw and one loss, consistently scoring at least two goals in six of those games, averaging 2.3 goals per match.

In their last six league outings, Lazio has only gathered seven points, with two wins, one draw, and three losses. Remarkably, Como has outperformed Lazio during this stretch, earning eight points despite having played one game less. After a streak of five straight victories, Lazio has only managed to earn one point from their last two home league matches (one draw and one loss) and hasn’t gone winless in three consecutive home Serie A games since early 2024, when they had a four-match winless run (one draw and three losses) under Maurizio Sarri.
Following their recent 2-0 victory over Lecce, Como is aiming to secure back-to-back Serie A wins for the second time this season, having previously achieved this in September against Atalanta and Hellas Verona. This matches their total from their last four Serie A seasons (1986/87, 1987/88, 1988/89, and 2002/03). However, Como has only won their first match of the year in January three times out of 13 attempts in Serie A, with the rest of the results comprising three draws and seven losses.
