VICTORIOUS IN VIENNA

(IN THE PHOTO: the Pulcini 2005 after victory in the OMV SK Tournament in Vienna)MILAN – The Pulcini 2005 led by coach Biffi triumphed in Vienna, Austria over the weekend by winning the OMV SK Tournament organised by Rapid Vienna.In the qualifier stages, Milan beat Genk 3-1, Slavia Prague 1-0, RedBull Salzburg 3-1, FC Admira 2-1 and even the hosts Rapid Vienna 2-1.In the quarter-final stage, the Pulcini 2005 saw off Dinamo Zagreb 3-0 and they followed this up with a 1-0 win against Bayern Munich in the semi-finals. In the final, Biffi’s boys beat Italian rivals Juventus by 4 goals to 0.The boys coached by Biffi also won the International Blitzturnier. The Rossoneri got past the qualifying stage with the following results: C.Moscow (5-0), Rapid Vienna (4-0), Hertha Berlin (1-0) and S.S Turnier (5-0). They won the semi-final 2-1 against Genk before seeing off Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb 1-0 in the final.Another success then for Biffi’s boys who also won the "FC Monchengladbach U9 Kuffmann & Partner Cup" and the "Memorial Gaetano Scirea" earlier in the season. Three players from the Milan team were also selected in the top team for the OMV SK Tournament in the form of Zeroli, Cifantes and Sala.The Giovanissimi 2000 coached by Monguzzi meanwhile came a very respectable second place at the Torneo delle Sirene in Sorrento. The Milan youngsters lost out in the final to Juventus 3-0, after beating Real Cesarea on penalties in the semi-final 4-3.In the group stages, Monguzzi’s team beat Pantanelli on penalties and then Reggio 2000 2-0.
