The match
Not the ideal kickoff for the Italian team, as France took an early lead with a quick goal in the 2nd minute. Adrien Rabiot scored from close range with a header that went into the top right corner. Lucas Digne set him up with a cross following a corner given away by Andrea Cambiaso. Digne’s corner from the left was aimed right into the box, and Rabiot managed to head it into the net on the right, rendering Dimarco’s attempt to clear it useless.

Italy pulled one back in the 35th minute when Andrea Cambiaso scored with a left-footed shot into the bottom left corner, outsmarting France’s goalkeeper Mike Maignan. Federico Dimarco provided the assist. Dimarco and Tonali linked up on the left, and after Dimarco crossed from the byline, Frattesi missed the header, but Cambiaso was there to strike first time, finding the net past Maignan on the left.
