Napoli losing the UEFA Europa League Group Stage Group C game against Sparta Moscow on Thursday 30 September 2021 at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in Napoli, Italy.  Incredible so, Napoli after scoring the fastest goal in less than 1 minute, ended up losing the game.  The only precedents between Napoli and Spartak Moscow in European competition are two goalless draws in the 1990/91 European Cup round of 16, in which Spartak passed the round after the penalty shoot-out lottery.

✅  Stats before the game.  Napoli have lost only one of six games in European competition to Russian opponents (1W, 4N), a 1-4 away defeat to Torpedo Moscow in the UEFA Cup in September 1975. Spartak Moscow have lost six of their last seven games in European competition against Italian teams (1N), five of which against Inter. Napoli have lost three of the five home games played in the Europa League between February 2018 and October 2020 (2W), in the following three games they achieved two wins and one draw. Spartak Moscow have won only two of their last 19 away games in all European competitions (6N, 11P): against Athletic Bilbao in February 2018 and against Thun in August 2019.
