Edin Dzeko becoming “Man of the Match” with his two precious goals to claim the victory.
✅ Stats before the game. Inter are unbeaten in their 6 matches with Shakhtar Donetsk in European competitions (2W, 4D), keeping a clean sheet 5 times and conceding only one goal in total. The last three meetings between Inter and Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League have ended goalless, all three since the start of last season. In these three games, 66 shots were recorded (43 by Inter and 23 by Shakhtar) without a single goal being scored. If this match ended in a goalless draw, it would equal Manchester United v Villarreal (four between 2005-08) as the match with the most consecutive goalless draws in European Cup / Champions League history. Shakhtar Donetsk have lost only two of their last six away matches against Italian teams in the Champions League (2W, 2N), remaining unbeaten in their last two – 2-1 against Atalanta in October 2019 and 0-0 against Inter Milan in December 2020 . After two wins against Sheriff Tiraspol in their last two Champions League games, Inter could win three games in a single season in the competition for the first time since 2011-12 (four in that case).
Inter opening the score in the 61st minute. It is Edin Dzeko to defeat Shakhtar Donetsk goalkeeper Trubin with a right footed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Matteo Darmian.
Edin Dzeko highly motivated scoring a second goal in the 67th minute. Dzeko scoring from very close range with a headed shot to the center. The assist is by Ivan Perisic
