AS Roma and Torino dueling to get the first victory in the 2019 to celebrate the New Year.  The battle is at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium and the victory is for Roma.  A sour defeat for Torino because it ends their  winning away record in the Serie A.   Roma reaching 33 points while Torino remain with 27 points.

Great start for Roma. It is Nicolò Zaniolo to open the score in the 15th minute. Yep. Zaniolo defeating Torino goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu with a left footed shot in the top left corner. The party is on at the Olimpico.

The Roman gladiators increasing the score in the 34th minute. Referee Giacomelli granted a penalty to Roma conceded by Torino goalkeeper Sirigu after a foul on forward on Stephan El Shaarawy. There you go… not failing to the mission. Aleksandar Kolarov converts the penalty defeating goalkeeper Sirigu with a left footed shot in the bottom left corner while Sirigu goes the other way.  Torino in problems….. Roma rocking…

Torino shortening the distance in the 51st minute.  It is Venezuelan forward Tomás Rincón to give a ray of hope.   Rincón defeating AS Roma goalkeeper with a right footed shot in the bottom right corner.

In the 67th minute, Torino level the score for the 2-2.  It is Cristian Ansaldi to deliver a right footed shot  defeating Roma goalkeeper Robin Olsen to delight Torino fans. Oops… headache for Roma fans.

The moment of redemption for Roma in the 73rd minute. Forward Stephan El Shaarawy scoring the winner goal to claim all three point crashing Torino’s hope.   El Shaarawy defeating goalkeeper Sirigu with a right footed shot in the bottom left corner.  The assist is by Lorenzo Pellegrini.

Hello my friends. Here are the 2018-2019 Serie A Week 19 Results / Nineteenth Round on Saturday 29 December 2018.

The verdict is here.  Juventus ending the 2018 as the sole leader of the Serie A and will start the 2019 as the “Commander in Chief of the Serie A”.   Here is the situation.  Juventus winning 17 games and 2 draws this season.    Juventus closing 2018 on a high note with a home victory at the Allianz Stadium defeating Sampdoria with a 2-1.   Cristiano scoring the two goals and Quagliarella  for Sampdoria.

Super  2018 celebration  is  high for Juventus because forward Cristiano Ronaldo ended as Top Scorer  with 15 goals and 5 assists.   Second top scorer is Genoa player Krzysztof Piatek with 13 goals and no assists.    The positive note for Sampdoria is seeing forward Fabio Quagliarella as the top 3 scorer with  12 goals and 5 assists which means he is -3 goals below Cristiano Ronaldo.   You bet 2019  race for the Top scorer will be a thriller.   My bet?  Of course, I am rooting for Cristiano Ronaldo.

The business in the relegation zone is quite the same.  Good news is for Chievo Verona seeing the light at the end of the tunnel battling for salvation.  Chievo defeated Frosinone at the Marc’Antonio Bentegodi Stadium with a 1-0.  This is an important victory because it is Chievo’s first win this season.  Yep.  You bet it is an added boost for the morale of the team.

Hello my friends. Here are the 2018-2019 Serie A Week 18 Results / Eighteenth Round on Wednesday 26 December 2018.

Juventus ending the 2018 as the sole leader of the Serie A.   Juventus winning 16 games and 2 draws this season.    A small shadow ruining the party is the draw with Atalanta ending 2-2 at the Atleti Azzurri D’Italia Stadium.   Atalanta stopping Juventus to claim all three points and had to split the price for 1 point each.

The race for the second position is gaining momentum!   Napoli wasted their chance to claim an away victory.   Inter defeated Napoli with a 1-0 at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium.

A blow for AC Milan ending with a 0-0 draw against Frosinone.   AC Milan stepping down from the 5th to the 6th position.

Hello my friends. Here are the 2018-2019 Serie A Week 17 Results / Sixteenth Round on Saturday 22 December 2018.

Juventus will celebrate Christmas being the sole leadership of the Serie A keeping a wide advantage.     Juventus winning 16 games and 1 draw this season.   The duel between Juventus and AS Roma ended in favor of Juventus with a 1 – 0 thanks to the goal by forward Mario Mandzukic.  The cry for help is for Roma down in the 9th position far away from the “European zone.”

A flop is for AC Milan unable to revive to their “glorious past.”   AC Milan losing the home game at the San Siro Stadium against Fiorentina.  It’s a team living in a shadow.   The golden years are gone and only a “miracle” can bring back those golden moments.  Milan going down from the 4th to the 5th position.

Good news is for Lazio jumping from the 5th to the 4th position after defeating Cagliari at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium.   Lazio reaching 28 points while AC Milan is down -1 point below with 27 points.  Cagliari is in the 14th position with 17 points.

Atalanta suffering a painful defeat at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium, Genoa 3 – 1 Atalanta.  This lost sent Atalanta down from the 6th to the 10th position. OUCH.   Atalanta reaching 24 points.

Chievo Verona stopped Inter at the Marc’Antonio Bentegodi Stadium.  The game ending with a 1-1 draw in the last minute ruining Inter’s hope to claim the victory.    Chievo have not won a single game this season!   Inter reaching 33 points in the 4th position and is -8 points below Napoli in the 3rd position with 41 points.

Another draw is Parma 0 – 0 Bologna at the Ennio Tardini Stadium.  Definitely, it’s a tough situation for Bologna finding themselves in the relegation zone down in the 18th position winning only 2 games, 7 draws, and 8 lost this season.

Juventus keeping the sole leadership of the Serie A after winning the Derby di Torino (the Turin Derby).   Juventus defeating Torino with the goal by Cristiano Ronaldo after converting a penalty.  The game ending Torino 0 – 1 Juventus.  Undoubtedly, Italy is set to defend their Italian title reaching 46 points and a positive goal difference of +25.  Juventus winning 15 games and 1 draw this season.
