The direct duel between the “Master” Carlo Ancelotti and the “Alumni” Gennaro Gattuso ended with a 0 – 0 goalless draw.  The great ex-AC Milan coach Ancelotti facing his pupil Gattuso at the San Siro Stadium.   We might say Gattuso passed the test.  

A disappointing result for both, mainly, for Napoli because they needed to grab the victory to get the 3 points and keep up the race with Juventus.   For Milan, it is also a disappointment as the rush is to climb at least to the 3rd position.   Milan now reaching 35 points and Napoli 48 points.  Simply put, Napoli wasted the chance to shorten the distance with Juventus in case of Juve defeating Lazio.   Napoli ended with 10 players.  Fabian Ruiz got a second yellow card for a handball leaving the team struggling.   Finally, just adding the cherry on top of the ice cream, Coach Ancelotti  was sent off too in the 95th minute for dissent.

Good start for Sassuolo taking the lead in the 9th minute. It is Manuel Locatelli to defeat Cagliari goalkeeper Alessio Cragno from close range with a right footed shot in the high center.

Sassuolo rocking…. The score increasing in the 45th minute just before ending the first half. Referee granted a penalty to Sassuolo conceded by Darijo Srna after a foul on Filip Djuricic. It is Khouma Babacar to convert the penalty defeating goalkeeper Cragno with a right footed shot in the bottom right corner.

It’s over for Cagliari falling down at the Mapei Stadium! Sassuolo increasing the score for the 3-0 in the 87th minute. Forward Alessandro Matri putting the word “the end” to grab the victory killing Cagliari’s hope to win this game. Party is on for Sassuolo.

Hello my friends. Here are the 2018-2019 Serie A Week 20 Results / Twentieth Round on Saturday 19, Sunday 20, and Monday 21 January 2019.

Happy New Year 2019.  We are resuming the Serie A and I am just thrilled to watch the games and see the first 10 games of 2019!   Bam1!   Awesome!   Are you thrilled too?   Oh wow, it looks like a promising year.

Here is the current situation.  Juventus keep shining big time after winning the 2019 Supercoppa Italiana defeating AC Milan with a 1-0 thanks to the goal by Cristiano Ronaldo.   Juventus start this year as the sole leader of the Serie A with a “huge advantage.”  Juventus, so far, having 18 wins, 2 draws, and not losing a game.  Juventus have 56 points keeping a wide lead of +9  ahead of Napoli in the second position.

Napoli keeping up the race for the Scudetto.  The objective is to keep the pace and try to reach Juventus.  Napoli defeated Lazio with a 2-1 at the San Paolo Stadium.  Napoli having now 47 points still in the second position.

Good news is for AC Milan believing in the revival!   AC Milan climbed from the 6th to the 4th position.  Yep, AC Milan defeating Genoa with a 0-2 in the away game at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium.

The challenge now is for the teams battling for salvation to remain in the Serie A for next season.  Bologna, Frosinone, and Chievo Verona are urged to take a serious measure to improve their standing.

Inter with a mission to climb the Serie A Table being now in the 3rd position.   Inter still believing in the dream to win the Scudetto.  Bad news is that Inter started the New Year 2019 with a 0-0 draw at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium when the objective was to win the home game.   It’s a disappointment for Inter while for Sassuolo is a good start because they did not lose the game but grabbed that single golden point.

A bad New Year start for Udinese losing the home game at the Friuli Stadium. It’s a disappointment while Parma grabbed this important away victory.  Udinese remaining with 18 points and Parma reaching 28 points.

The game started with the wrong foot for Udinese.   Parma opening the score in the 11th minute following a penalty conceded by Rodrigo De Paul after a foul on Gervinho inside the penalty box.  Referee Mazzoleni had to consult the VAR to validate the penalty.  Indeed, the penalty was converted by forward Roberto Inglese defeating Udinese goalkeeper Musso with a right footed shot in the bottom right corner.

Udinese level the score for the 1-1 in the 50th minute.  It is Stefano Okaka to defeat Parma goalkeeper with a headed shot in the bottom left corner.

Gervinho scoring the winner goal. What a slap for Udinese!   In the 68th minute, following a fast break, there it is Gervinho smacking a left footed shot in the bottom left corner.   The assist is by Leo Stulac.
