Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Juventus, 6th position with 39 points and a positive goal difference of +19
Como, 15th position with 22 points and a negative goal difference of -11

Como lost the Serie A Week 24 game on Friday, February 7, 2025, at the Giuseppe Sinigaglia Stadium in Como, Italy. Juventus secured a 2-1 victory over Como, thanks to a standout performance from Kolo Muani, who netted both goals for his team. He started strong with an impressive strike and later sealed the win with a penalty. Como put up a good fight, scoring through Diao, but ultimately faltered after a blunder by Butez. This narrow win helps Juventus climb the standings.  Juventus managed to secure back-to-back league victories since early November, when they won against Udinese and Torino.

In their next match, Juventus will take on Inter, while Como is set to face Fiorentina.

Let’s roll the ball…

Juventus opened the scoring in the 35th minute when Randal Kolo Muani found the back of the net with a powerful right-footed shot aimed at the top center of the goal. Nicolás González provided the assist. After Strefezza lost possession in midfield, Kolo Muani seized the opportunity, launching himself forward and delivering a stunning shot that went under the crossbar, leaving Butez with no chance.

Assane Diao brought Como level with a powerful header into the top left corner. The setup came from Patrick Cutrone, who delivered a precise cross after winning the ball back following a corner. Diao expertly directed the ball past Di Gregorio with his head.

In a thrilling finish, Juventus took the lead in the 89th minute thanks to Randal Kolo Muani. He confidently converted a penalty with a precise right-footed shot into the bottom right corner, leaving Jean Butez with no chance. The penalty was given after Federico Gatti was brought down, and Muani made sure to capitalize on the opportunity.

✅    Stats before the game:

Juventus has maintained an impressive unbeaten streak of 22 Serie A matches against Como, with 13 victories and 9 draws. The last time Como triumphed over the Bianconeri in the top division was on January 20, 1952, when they won 2-0 at Sinigaglia. This marks Como’s longest winless run against any single opponent in Serie A history.

Initially, Como had some success against Juventus, winning two of their first three home matches between 1950 and 1952, but they have since struggled, failing to secure a win in their last 10 home encounters with the Bianconeri, resulting in 4 draws and 6 losses.

Recently, Como has faced challenges, losing their last two league matches against Atalanta and Bologna. They have only experienced a three-match losing streak once in this tournament, which occurred between October and November of this year against Torino, Lazio, and Empoli.

Como did not score in their last league match (0-2 against Bologna) and could remain dry in two consecutive Serie A games for the first time since April-May 2003.

Juventus won their last Serie A game against Empoli and have not achieved two consecutive league wins since the beginning of November (against Udinese and Torino in that case).

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Inter, 2nd position with 51 points and a positive goal difference of +37
Fiorentina, 6th position with 39 points and a positive goal difference of +14

Fiorentina triumphed in the Recovered Serie A Week 14 match against Inter on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at the Artemio Franchi Stadium in Florence, Italy. Inter couldn’t close the gap with Napoli, staying at 51 points, three points behind the league leaders. Meanwhile, Fiorentina climbed the standings to tie with Lazio for fourth place, now at 42 points.

The victory came in the second half with a goal from Ranieri after a tough first half. Inter pushed forward in search of answers but never posed a real threat, while Kean sealed the win with two goals. You can bet that Napoli fans are celebrating, as they remain the sole leaders.

NOTE:  Inter and Fiorentina resume their Serie A Week 14 match from December 1, which was halted at 0-0 in the 16th minute because of a medical emergency. The game picked up from the 17th minute on Thursday 6 February 2025.  The interruption occurred after 16 minutes due to the health issue of Fiorentina’s midfielder, Edoardo Bove.

Fiorentina gained the upper hand in the 59th minute when Luca Ranieri found the back of the net with a left-footed shot aimed at the bottom left corner. The goal was set up by Rolando Mandragora, who delivered a cross after a corner awarded due to a foul by Stefan de Vrij. Mandragora’s corner was a gentle ball into the center, allowing Ranieri to outsmart Frattesi and score past goalkeeper Sommer.

Inter is in serious trouble as Fiorentina doubles their lead in the 68th minute. Moise Kean finds the net with a header aimed at the bottom left corner. Dodô provides the assist, lifting his head from the three-quarter line to send a precise pass to Kean at the far post, where he expertly heads it past Sommer.

It’s a celebration for Fiorentina! In the 89th minute, Moise Kean found the back of the net with a right-footed shot into the bottom left corner. Inter attempted to control the game, but Dimarco’s poor pass to a teammate allowed Kean to swoop in, seize the ball, and score from a distance, beating Sommer.

✅     Stats before the game:

Since the 2017/18 season, Fiorentina has managed to secure only one victory out of 14 Serie A encounters with Inter, recording five draws and eight losses. Additionally, the Viola have failed to find the net in two straight league games against the Nerazzurri, marking their longest goalless streak against this rival since the period from December 2007 to November 2009, when they went five matches without scoring.

Inter, on the other hand, has triumphed in six of their last eight Serie A clashes with Fiorentina, with one draw and one loss. Since the 2020/21 season began, no other team has defeated the Viola more often in the top division than the Nerazzurri, who have matched Milan with six wins. Furthermore, Inter has claimed victory in their last four away games against Fiorentina in Serie A, boasting an aggregate score of 10-4. No team has ever achieved five consecutive away wins against the Viola in the history of the league.

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Napoli, 1st position with 53 points and a positive goal difference of +22
AS Roma, 9th position with 30 points and a positive goal difference of +5

A thriller game with AS Roma and Napoli ending the Serie A Week 23 with a draw on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium. Roma earns a point, bringing their total to 31, while Napoli, despite not moving up in the standings, holds onto first place with 54 points, three ahead of Inter. The match was played at a thrilling pace, with Napoli initially taking the lead thanks to Spinazzola in the first half. Although the Neapolitans managed to control the game in the second half, Angelino’s stunning finish in the closing moments secured a draw for Roma.

In short, Roma is out of the running for European spots and really needs to turn things around. Meanwhile, Napoli is just three points ahead of Inter, so they’ll be looking to secure a win in this crucial game!

Roma comes into this match with two league wins in a row, while Napoli has been on a roll with seven victories. The first leg saw Napoli take the lead with a 1-0 scoreline. With Atalanta and Inter drawing, Napoli can increase their lead in the standings. They’ll face a determined Roma team that is looking for a win to get back into the European competition.

This is Romelu Lukaku’s 150th Serie A appearance (32 of which came with Roma last season), who has currently scored 79 goals in the competition; among players who made their debut in the three-points-for-a-win era, only eight have managed to score more goals than the Napoli striker in their first 150 games in the tournament: Gonzalo Higuaín (98), David Trézéguet (94), Andriy Shevchenko (90), Hernán Crespo (88), Diego Milito (86), Vincenzo Montella (85), Ciro Immobile (84) and Cristiano Ronaldo (81).

Napoli opened the scoring in the 29th minute when Leonardo Spinazzola found the back of the net with a right-footed shot aimed at the top left corner. The goal was set up by Juan Jesus, who sent Spinazzola racing down the left flank. As he approached Svilar, Spinazzola cleverly deceived him with a gentle lob. Just brilliant!

This match was a thrilling spectacle! In the dying moments, specifically the 92nd minute, Angeliño scored an equalizer for Roma with a brilliant left-footed strike into the bottom right corner. The assist came from Alexis Saelemaekers, who floated a soft ball into the area from the right. Angeliño expertly struck it with the outside of his foot, guiding it past Meret and into the net.

✅  Stats before the game.

Napoli has managed to remain unbeaten in nine out of their last ten Serie A matches against Roma, securing six wins and three draws. The only victory for the Giallorossi during this stretch was on December 23, 2023, where they triumphed 2-0, thanks to goals from Lorenzo Pellegrini and Romelu Lukaku. After enjoying four straight home wins against Napoli, Roma has only claimed two victories in their last eight home encounters with the Partenopei, and they’ve struggled to find the net in three of their last four matches.

Currently, Roma is on a six-game unbeaten run in the league, with four wins and two draws, bouncing back from a tough period where they lost seven out of nine games. If they secure wins against Genoa and Udinese, they could achieve three consecutive Serie A victories for the first time since March 2024, when Daniele De Rossi was coaching. Meanwhile, Napoli is riding high with seven straight wins in Serie A, a feat they’ve only surpassed six times in their history, the last being an eight-game streak from January to February 2023.

Claudio Ranieri, who against Udinese became the 15th coach in Serie A history to reach the milestone of 200 wins (achieved a few hours later by Simone Inzaghi), also became the first coach in the history of the competition to lead a team for at least 10 matches after turning 73 years of age. In fact, none of the players fielded on the final day were born on the day of his first bench in the competition in September 1990.

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Inter, 2nd position with 50 points and a positive goal difference of +37
AC Milan, 8th position with 34 points and a positive goal difference of +9

What an exhilarating derby between Milan and Inter ending the Serie A Week 23 with a draw on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy. Reijnders kicked things off with a goal just before halftime, but De Vrij equalized in the 93rd minute after the Nerazzurri struck the posts three times in the second half. It was a thrilling match packed with surprises, ultimately finishing in a 1-1 draw that brings joy to Napoli.

Inter is in 2nd place with 51 points, while AC Milan, currently in 8th with 35 points, is under pressure to improve their standing and re-enter the European competition.

Nicola Zalewski made a memorable debut with Inter, providing the assist for De Vrij’s equalizing goal. Also, English footballer Kyle Walker making his debut with AC Milan since the starting lineup.

Sérgio Conceição, who played 41 matches in Serie A for Inter from 2001 to 2003, has the chance to be the second AC Milan coach in 35 years to win his first two Milan derbies against the Nerazzurri across all competitions. The only other coach to achieve this feat was Massimiliano Allegri, who did so between 2010 and 2011.

The beginning of the match

AC Milan gained the upper hand in the 45th minute, right before halftime. Tijjani Reijnders found the back of the net with a right-footed shot aimed at the top right corner. It was a fantastic pass from Theo to Leao, who then delivered a cross into the box. Inter’s goalkeeper, Yann Sommer, misjudged the situation, allowing Reijnders to pounce on the rebound and score.

Inter managed to equalize in the 93rd minute when Stefan de Vrij found the back of the net with a close-range left-footed shot aimed at the bottom left corner. The assist came from Nicola Zalewski, whose cross set up De Vrij perfectly for the open goal, leaving Maignan with no chance.

Stats before the game

Milan has triumphed in the last two derbies against Inter across all competitions, matching their total wins from the previous 13 encounters (with 2 draws and 9 losses). The Rossoneri have a chance to achieve three consecutive victories over the Nerazzurri for the first time since 2011, when Massimiliano Allegri was at the helm.

Inter holds the record for the most victories against Milan in Serie A, having beaten them 70 times, and they also lead in goals scored against the Rossoneri with a total of 259. Interestingly, the Nerazzurri have drawn more matches with Milan than with any other team in the league, totaling 56 draws.

In the last seven Serie A derbies since Simone Inzaghi took charge of Inter, the record is evenly split with three wins for each side and one draw. Notably, the Rossoneri have consistently conceded goals in the first half during this stretch, with the last time Inter failed to score before halftime being back in February 2020.
