Venezia with a half mission accomplished ending the Serie A Week 17 game with a draw against Juventus on Saturday 11 December 2021 at the Penzo Stadium in Venice, Italy.  Juventus, on paper, favorites to win and needed the victory to climb the Standings. Yet, they failed. This draw is more like a victory for Venezia after being down. Paulo Dybala forced out due to injury after 12 minutes. Now for Juve – currently sixth in the standings – the race for the Champions League is again complicating considerably.

After losing only one of the first seven Serie A matches against Juventus (1W, 5D), Venezia have suffered 15 defeats in the following 17 matches with the Bianconeri (1W, 1D) – the Old Lady is the team that repeatedly he beat the lagoon in the top league (16).

Juventus opening the score in the 32nd minute. Spanish forward Álvaro Morata defeating Venezia goalkeeper Sergio Romero with a right footed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Luca Pellegrini.

Venezia equalizing for the 1-1 in the 55th minute. It is Mattia Aramu to defeat Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny with a left footed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Ridgeciano Haps.

Stats before the game.  Venezia have lost their last two Serie A home games against Juventus, in 2000 and 2002, but have never reached three consecutive defeats against the Bianconeri in the top flight. Venezia have lost all their last three league games and have conceded four goals in the two most recent: in Serie A only twice they have collected at least four goals in three games in a row, in 1949 and 2002. Venezia have conceded at least two goals in all of their last four Serie A home games, equaling their worst streak of 2+ conceded home games, dating back to 1967. Juventus have kept a clean sheet in four of their last five league games (4W, 1P), as many clean sheets as in the previous 29 in the competition.
