Torino wins three precious golden points for their progress in the league winning the Serie A Week 17 by beating Bologna.  Torino reaching 22 points climbing to the 13th position  while Bologna remain with 24 points in the 10th position.

First half with Torino domination, then Juric’s team doubled in the 69th minute with a shot from Pobega blocked by Skorupski. When the game seemed to be in Torino’s control, Samson’s perfect insertion arrived and was spread in the area by Milinkovic Savic: a penalty and a goal by Orsolini that lights up the rossoblù hopes. Torino resists and wastes a clear opportunity in the 90th minute with Zaza pulling on Skorupski.

Napoli suffering a major upset losing the Serie A Week 17 game defeated by Empoli on Sunday 12 December 2021 at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in Naples, Italy.  Empoli, not only surprising Napoli but almost everybody after grabbing the away victory stopping Napoli’s sprint race stepping down from the 3rd to the 4th position.  Surely, this is a major victory for Empoli boosting their morale.  Bad stats for Napoli, previously, not won any of the last five games played in December in Serie A (2D, 3L).

After four consecutive successes against Empoli in Serie A, Napoli lost the most recent match against the Tuscan team (2-1 at Castellani in April 2019): the Neapolitans have never lost two games in a row in the top flight against the opponent of the day.  Napoli have not drawn in Serie A against a newly promoted team since December 2014 (2-2 against Empoli): since then for the Neapolitans 18 wins and two defeats in 20 crossings with teams from Serie B.
