Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Bologna, 18th position with 1 points and a negative goal difference of -3
Salernitana, 12th position with 4 points and a positive goal difference of +3

Bologna failed to win the Serie A Week 4 game against Salernitana on Thursday 1 September 2022 at the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium in Bologna, Italy. Salernitana got their third consecutive useful result finding the second draw in four games and climb to tenth place in the standings with 5 points.  Bologna still unable to win their first game collecting only 2 points in the first four games this season. In the previous seven seasons only in 2018/19 they have not achieved any success after the first four Serie A matches (one draw and three defeats in that case).  Bologna remained unbeaten in the two Serie A games against Salernitana last season (3-2 at home, 1-1 away) after losing two of their three previous matches in the top flight.

Bologna opened the score in the 52nd minute. Marko Arnautovic converting a penalty defeating Salernitana goalkeeper Luigi Sepe with a right footed shot to the bottom left corner. The penalty is conceded by Norbert Gyömbér.

Salernitana equalized for the 1-1 in the 88th minute. Boulaye Dia defeated Bologna goalkeeper Lukasz Skorupski with a left footed shot to the bottom left corner.

✅   Stats before the game: This will be the seventh Serie A match between Bologna and Salernitana and could break the balance in the balance between the two teams that have two wins on each side and two draws.   Salernitana has never snatched all three points in a Serie A away match against Bologna (1D, 2L) and more generally the granata have not won any of the seven away games in the top league against opponents from Emilia Romagna (2D, 5PL).  Bologna have lost all their last three Serie A games played on Thursday, even if all away games – at home, however, the rossoblù have remained unbeaten in all 15 games played on this day of the week in their history in the tournament (9W, 6D).  Salernitana is experiencing her best away unbeaten streak in her history in Serie A (five) – plus they could keep clean sheets in two consecutive away games in the tournament for the first time since April 1999.

👉 Lineup BOLOGNA (3-4-2-1) – Skorupski; Soumaoro, Medel, Lucumí; Kasius, Schouten, Dominguez, Cambiaso; Vignato, Sansone; Arnautovic.

👉 Lineup SALERNITANA (3-5-2) – Sepe; Bronn, Gyomber, Fazio; Mazzocchi, Coulibaly, Maggiore, Vilhena, Bradaric; Dia, Bonazzoli.

👉 Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Napoli, 1st position with 7 points and a positive goal difference of +7
Lecce, 15th position with 1 point and a negative goal difference of -2

Napoli failed big time ending the Serie A Week 2 game against Lecce with a draw on Wednesday 31 August 2022 at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in Napoli, Italy.  Lecce caused an upset claiming at least 1 point to climb the Standing while stopping Napoli.  The draw sees Napoli dropping from the 1st position to the third position. Ouch!

In the next round, Napoli will play the away game against Lazio at the Olimpico Lecce will play at home against Torino.

Lecce failed to take the lead in the 25th minute after Lorenzo Colombo failed to convert a penalty. Ironically, the first attempt was a goal, yet, Referee Matteo Marcenaro decided to repeat the penalty and this time was saved by goalkeeper Alex Meret.

Napoli opened the score in the 27th minute. Eljif Elmas defeated Lecce goalkeeper Wladimiro Falcone with a right footed shot to the bottom right corner. The assist is by Matteo Politano.

Lecce equalized for the 1-1 in the 31st minute. It is the redemption moment for Lorenzo Colombo this time scoring after failing the penalty. Colombo defeated goalkeeper Meret with a left footed shot to the top left corner. The headed assist is by Morten Hjulmand.

✅    Stats before the game. Napoli and Lecce have met 22 times in Serie A (10 wins for Napoli, 7 draws, 5 wins for Lecce): in the last four matches an average of 4.5 was achieved per game (18 in total), practically double that recorded in the first 18 games (43 goals, 2.3 per game).  Napoli have won seven of their 11 Serie A home matches against Lecce, but lost the last one on 9 February 2020 with Gennaro Gattuso on the bench (2-3). The Salento have never won twice in a row at the Azzurri’s home in the top flight. Napoli have not won any of the last nine Serie A matches played on Wednesday (4N, 5P) – the latest success dates back to 8 July 2020, thanks to a 2-1 over Genoa with Gennaro Gattuso on the bench. After the 4-0 win against Monza on Matchday 2, Napoli could keep a clean sheet in both their first two home games of the season in a Serie A championship for the second time in the last 39 years (they also managed it in 2013 / 14). Napoli have kept a clean sheet in five of their last six Serie A matches, as many times as in the previous 24 – from May onwards, in the top five European leagues, only Real Betis have obtained more clean sheets than the Neapolitans (six vs five).

👉 Lineup NAPOLI (4-2-3-1): Meret, Di Lorenzo, Ostigard, Kim, Olivera, Anguissa, Ndombele, Politano, Raspadori, Elmas, Osimhen.

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Sampdoria, 18th position with 1 points and a negative goal difference of -6
Lazio, 5th position with 7 points and a positive goal difference of +3

Sampdoria and Lazio ended the Serie A Week 4 game with a draw on Wednesday 31 August 2022 at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium in Genova, Italy.  The highlight of the match is that Lazio forward Ciro Immobile hooks Gabriel Batistuta to score 184 goals in Serie A.   Lazio reached 8 points while Sampdoria grabbed this golden point to reach 2 points this season and moving away from the relegation zone.

Lazio opened the score in the 21st minute. Forward Ciro Immobile defeated Sampdoria goalkeeper Emil Audero with a right footed shot to the center. The assist is by Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

Sampdoria equalized for the 1-1 in the 92nd minute. It is Manolo Gabbiadini to defeat Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel with a left footed shot to the bottom right corner. The assist is by Tomás Rincón.

✅  Stats before the game: Sampdoria have won only two of their last 21 Serie A matches against Lazio (3D, 16L): in the same period, from 2010/11 onwards, only against Napoli have the Sampdoria achieved fewer successes against teams they have faced more than five times in the top flight.  After a 2-0 win in the second round last season, Lazio could keep a clean sheet in two consecutive Serie A games against Sampdoria for the first time since 2015 (three on that occasion, all with Sinisa Mihajlovic at the guide of the Sampdoria club).  Lazio have won five of their last six Serie A games at Sampdoria (1L), always scoring at least two goals. The exception dates back to 17 October 2020 when the Sampdoria led by Claudio Ranieri won 3-0 with goals from Quagliarella, Augello and Damsgaard.
Sampdoria have not found the goal in their last two home league games: the Sampdoria have not recorded three home games in a row without goals in the competition since September 2013. Also considering the end of last season, Lazio have drawn their last two Serie A away games and have not reached three in a row in the competition since March 2016 (six in that case, under the management of Stefano Pioli). Sampdoria are the only team that has not yet scored a goal in this championship: it is the first time in the history of the competition in which the Sampdoria have lost out in the first three Serie A matches of the season.

👉  Lineup Sampdoria (4-3-2-1) Audero; Bereszynski, Murillo, Colley, Augello; Leris, Vieira, Rincon; Sabiri, Verre; Quagliarella

👉  Lineup Lazio (4-3-3) Provedel; Lazzari, Patric, Romagnoli, Marusic; Milinkovic-Savic, Cataldi, Luis Alberto; Felipe Anderson, Immobile, Zaccagni

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Fiorentina, 9th position with 5 points and a positive goal difference of +1
Udinese, 12th position with 4 points and a negative goal difference of -1

Udinese with an important home win. Udinese win the Serie A Week 4 game defeating Fiorentina at the Dacia Arena on Wednesday 31 August 2022 in Udine, Italy. Viola wasted too many chances, lost many balls. Fiorentina’s abstinence from scoring continues (four games without scoring). The hero for Udinese is Beto scoring the only and winner goal to claim all 3 points. Udinese reached 7 points while Fiorentina remain with 5 points. In the next round, Udinese will play the home game against Roma and Fiorentina will host Juventus at the Franchi Stadium.

Udinese opened the score in the 17th minute. It is Beto to defeat Fiorentina goalkeeper Pietro Terracciano with a left footed shot to the center. The assist is by Gerard Deulofeu.

✅    Stats before the game. Udinese have won two of their last three Serie A matches against Fiorentina (1L), ending a streak of unbeaten Viola that lasted from September 2016 to October 2020 (nine games – 6W, 3D for Fiorentina). Udinese have kept clean sheets three times in their last five Serie A matches against Fiorentina, as many clean sheets as those recorded in the previous 27 top-flight games against Viola. After the 1-0 victory last season (goal from a penalty by Vlahovic), Fiorentina could win two consecutive games at Udinese in Serie A for the first time since December 2000-October 2001. The bianconeri, on the other hand, do not stay without goals for two home games in a row against the Viola from the period between September 1959 and April 1961 (two). Udinese found success in the last league match played on Wednesday, 4-0 against Fiorentina on 27 April – before this victory, the Friulians arrived from 16 consecutive matches without the three points on this day of the week (6D, 10L).
