✅  Stats before the game. Juventus have lost only one of their last 32 Serie A matches against Torino (23W, 8D) – a defeat that came on April 26, 2015, with Andrea Pirlo’s goal recovered by grenade goals from Matteo Darmian and Fabio Quagliarella. Torino’s last clean sheet against Juventus in Serie A dates back to February 26, 2008, when the team then coached by Walter Novellino drew 0-0 against Claudio Ranieri’s bianconeri – since then the Vecchia Signora has scored 40 goals in 22 Derby (1.8 average per match). After the 1-1 draw in the second round last season, Torino could remain unbeaten for two consecutive Serie A matches against Juventus for the first time since 2001/02 (two draws with Giancarlo Camolese on the bench). Only two wins for Torino in their last 12 home games in Serie A (5D, 5L). Torino have not found the way to score in five of their last eight (they could score in two home matches in a row for the first time since last March). Juventus have not won any of their last six Serie A away games (2D, 4L) and have not reached seven in a row since August 2010 – the last streak of three consecutive away defeats in the league dates back to 12 years ago (four in the ‘April 2010).

Inter battled fiercely and defeated Sassuolo at the Mapei Stadium.  This victory relaunches Inter in the league reaching 15 points. Sassuolo remains at 12 points. Surely, it is a precious win for Inter who regained the three points after a hard-fought match that saw the Nerazzurri break the deadlock with Dzeko at the end of the first half, in the second half Davide Frattesi found the equalizer but it was still the Bosnian Edin Džeko who closed the game with a header goal. The highlight of the game is the special goal by Edin Džeko scoring his 100th goal in Serie A.

AC Milan with a sprint race defeated Juventus at the San Siro Stadium. Juventus suffered this major lost remaining below the 6th position.  On the contrary, Milan with  a convincing victory reached 20 points. Spectacular match and the technical superiority of Pioli’s team is clear. Milik and Vlahovic make a mistake, Leao hits two posts and warns Juve that collapses between the two halves: Tomori unlocks it from a corner amid protests by Juventus for an alleged foul on Juan Cuadrado not recognized by Referee Orsato, then magic by Diaz in opening of recovery closes the accounts.

Roma defeated Lecce  at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium.   Roma played a game of suffering despite the numerical superiority since the 22nd minute when Morten Hjulmand was sent off.  Roma rise to 19 points being -4 from leaders Napoli with 23 points. Lecce maintains a 2-point advantage over the relegation zone. In the next round of the championship, Lecce will host Fiorentina, while Roma will face Sampdoria.

Sampdoria new Coach Dejan Stanković debuts with a draw against Bologna at the Renato Dall’Ara Stadium.  Sampdoria reached 3 points and are in the last position of the Standing. It is the worst start ever for the Ligurians in a Serie A season after the first eight games.   Sampdoria team is the one that has lost the most games in 2022 in the five major European leagues (19 defeats out of 27 matches).  Simply put, the first point of management for both Thiago Motta and Stankovic. The Bologna coach interrupts the streak of two defeats since his arrival and rises to 7 points.

Torino manage to avoid the fourth consecutive defeat by finding the equalizer goal in the final 90th minute, but still postpone the return to victory. Juric’s team rises to 11 points. The fifth draw in the league, however, for Empoli.

Lazio trashed Fiorentina with four goals, fourth consecutive victory and second 4-0 in a row for Maurizio Sarri’s team. Lazio scored the first goal with the ex-Viola Vecino on a corner kick, doubling up shortly after thanks to the inclusion of Mattia Zaccagni between the lines. In the second half, Luis Alberto and Immobile take care of closing the match with a memorable poker. Lazio climbed to third place in the standings, three to three from Napoli leaders in Serie A, while it is a nightmare for Fiorentina.

Monza obtained their third consecutive victory after defeating Spezia. Monza reached 10 points and climbed to the 12th position while Spezia remain with 8 points stepping down to the 15th position. Carlos Augusto at 32 ‘broke the deadlock on an assist from Pessina. In the second half, Pablo Marí’s double from Barberis’ corner.   In the next round of the championship for Monza away from Empoli, Spezia will play at home against Cremonese.

Lazio with a sprint race to win the Serie A Week 9 game to remain within the European zone on Monday 10 October 2022 at the Olimpico di Roma Stadium in Rome, Italy. The Viola are on the right side of the table, still standing at 9 points, just four points ahead of the relegation zone.

Fiorentina falling at the Franchi despite the motivation obtained in the Conference League on the Hearts field. Lazio, who are back from 0-0 in the Europa League against Sturm Graz.

Fiorentina have only won one of their last seven league games (3N, 3P), 2-0 against Verona last September 18th; in particular, the Viola have not found the goal in four of these matches, in the current Serie A no team has done worse.

Lazio opened the score in the 11th minute. Matías Vecino defeated Fiorentina goalkeeper with a headed shot to the top right corner. The assist is by Mattia Zaccagni.

Fiorentina conceded another goal in the 25th minute. Lazio dominating the Franchi with Mattia Zaccagni scoring from very close range with a headed shot to the bottom left corner. The assist is by Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

✅    Stats before the game. Fiorentina have won only one of their last 10 Serie A matches against Lazio (2D, 7L), a 2-0 draw on 8 May 2021, thanks to a brace from Dusan Vlahovic. Lazio have kept a clean sheet in their last two league games against Fiorentina and have not done better against this opponent since 2013-2015, when they recorded four consecutive clean sheets against the Viola. In the last seven Serie A matches between Fiorentina and Lazio at the home of the Tuscans, the same result has never been repeated twice in a row: two Viola wins, a draw and four Biancocelesti wins, including the one for 3-0 in the most recent match. on February 5th. Lazio have won three consecutive Serie A games for the first time with Maurizio Sarri at the helm; the last time the Biancocelesti had achieved three consecutive league wins without conceding a goal was in March 2015 (four in that case with Stefano Pioli at the helm). Lazio have conceded only five goals in this league: in the era of three points to win, only in 2001/02 (five) the biancocelesti had collected so few goals after the first eight Serie A matches of the season – in that case they did not concede goals not even in the ninth game.

Roma could obtain three wins against newly promoted teams in the first 10 league days for the third time in their history in Serie A, after 1997/98 and 2004/05 (when, however, the teams from B faced were five).   Roma have lost only one of their last 11 home games in Serie A (6W, 4N), the most recent, against Atalanta – the Giallorossi have not recorded two consecutive home knockouts in the league since January 2020.  Lecce have drawn four of their first eight games in a Serie A season for the first time in their history; the Apulian team in general finished in a draw four of the last six matches in the top flight (1W, 1L), as many as the previous 29 (including the previous participation).

Napoli win the Serie A Week 9 game crushing Cremonese on Sunday 9 October 2022 at the Giovanni Zini Stadium in Cremona, Italy.  Napoli with the fifth consecutive win keep the first position.  Napoli have remained unbeaten in their last seven games against Cremonese considering all competitions (4W, 3D) – the last KO against this opponent dates back to 11 September 1994, 0-2 away from home in the top flight.

Referee Rosario Abisso gave a penalty to Napoli conceded by Matteo Bianchetti after a foul on Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. It is Matteo Politano to convert the penalty defeating Cremonese goalkeeper Ionut Radu with a left-footed shot to the bottom left corner.

Napoli take the lead again in the 76th minute. Forward Giovanni Simeone scored with a headed shot to the top right corner. The assist is by Mário Rui.

✅   Stats before the game:   Cremonese has remained unbeaten in the last two Serie A matches against Napoli (two draws with Luigi Simoni on the bench) and has never played more games in a row in the top flight against the Neapolitans without losing.  Napoli have not found success in three of their last six league games against newly promoted opponents (draw against Lecce in August and two defeats against Empoli last season), as many times as in the previous 31 matches against these teams.  After a series of four consecutive defeats, Cremonese drew three of the following four championship matches (1P); however, this is the second time in its history in which it has not recorded even a success in the first eight matches in a Serie A season (the previous one in 1995/96, in which it was also defeated in the ninth match played).  Napoli are unbeaten in 12 league games (10W, 2N), the last time they did better under the management of a single coach was in November 2017 (26 with Maurizio Sarri at the helm); moreover, the Neapolitans can record at least seven successes in the first nine matches of the season for three championships in a row for the first time in Serie A.
