Napoli, 1st position with 87 points and a positive goal difference of +47
Sampdoria, 20th position with 19 points and a negative goal difference of -45

👉 Napoli Champions of Italy win the Serie A Week 38 game on Sunday 4 June 2023 at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in Naples, Italy. This is the first time in Serie A history that two teams with a difference of 68 points in the standings at the start of the day will face each other (87 for Napoli and 19 for Sampdoria); the last time the team with more than 60 points less than their opponents found success was on 8 May 2016 (Verona against Juventus).

Everything happens in the second half, Napoli unlocked the result thanks to the ingenuity of Murru who overwhelms Osimhen in the area, who scores the penalty in the 64th minute. The doubling goal arrives in the 85th minute with Diego Simeone who, served on the edge of the area by Raspadori, kicks towards the right post and puts it into the crossroads.

The party for the awarding of the Scudetto of Luciano Spalletti, who leaves the team with one last victory and with the quota of 90 points reached. Spalletti’s team ends its season with a victory thanks to goals from Osimhen and Simeone.

Napoli opened the score in the 64th minute. Forward Victor Osimhen converted a penalty defeating Sampdoria goalkeeper with a right-footed shot to the bottom right corner. The penalty is conceded by Nicola Murru.

Napoli sealed the victory in the 85th minute. Diego Simeone scored with a right-footed shot to the top right corner. The assist is by Giacomo Raspadori.

Stats before the game: Napoli have won their last eight Serie A matches against Sampdoria; the Campania players have recorded a longer streak of consecutive successes in the top flight only against SPAL (11 between 1963 and 2019); on the other hand, for the blucerchiati it is the longest series of defeats in a row against a single opponent in the competition. Sampdoria’s last away success against Napoli in Serie A dates back to 19 April 1998 (2-0 with an own goal from Bertrand Crasson and a goal from Pierre Laigle): in fact, the Neapolitan side is the opponent that the blucerchiati have faced several times away home in the 2000s in the top flight without ever winning (14: 2D, 12P). Napoli have scored 49 goals in their last 19 games against Sampdoria in the top flight, an average of 2.6 goals per match. In the last 10 Serie A seasons, only one team has scored more goals on average against a single opponent (min. 10 goals): always Napoli, but against Bologna (2.8).

Mission accomplished. Lazio won the Serie A Week 38 game on Saturday 3 June 2023 at the Carlo Castellani Stadium in Empoli, Italy.  The victory is thanks to the goals by Alessio Romagnoli and Luis Alberto.   Empoli achieved salvation positioning in 14th place with 43 points overall. Lazio got their second place which is the best result of the Lotito era. The merit of Sarri, of the whole team, of the staff. Lazio fans must be happy with the team qualifying to the Champions League two years after the last time (2020/2021 edition).

The challenge between Azzurri and Biancocelesti which is renewed after five months from the last match, that of last January 08, which ended with a rich 2-2 draw within the walls of the Olimpico stadium in Rome.

Empoli have won three of their last five league games (D2), as many victories as in their previous 17 Serie A matches (D6, L8). Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Cremonese, 19th position with 24 points and a negative goal difference of -35
Salernitana, 15th position with 42 points and a negative goal difference of -12

Cremonese won their last game this season as they are relegated to the Serie B.  Cremonese saluted the Serie A winning the Serie A Week 38 game on Saturday 3 June 2023 at the Giovanni Zini Stadium in Cremona, Italy.  Salernitana tried to make themselves dangerous above all with shots from a distance by Candreva and then with flashes by Sambia who has given a new sprint in the left-handed lane since he entered the field. Salernitana, despite this defeat, are safe to remain in Serie A next season.

Cremonese took the lead in thhe 27th minute. Cristian Buonaiuto defeated Salernitana goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa converting a penalty with a right-footed shot to the bottom right corner. The penalty is conceded by Emil Bohinen following a foul on Buonaiuto.

Salernitana conceded another goal in the 88th minute.  Frank Tsadjout scored with a left footed shot to the top left corner. The assist is by Soualiho Meïté.

Image

✅   Stats before the game: The only precedent in Serie A between Cremonese and Salernitana is the 2-2 in the first leg (Okereke, Ciofani, Piatek and Coulibaly the scorers).
Salernitana have won their last two matches against newly promoted sides in Serie A and only managed three consecutive wins against these opponents once, between 1948 and 1998. Cremonese have won four matches in this league; the last newly promoted with so few successes in a Serie A season was Pescara 2016/17 (three wins in that case). Two of the three Cremonese home wins in this league have come in the Lombards’ last four home games (D1, L1) – in fact, in the previous 14 games at Zini in Serie A 2022/23, the Grigiorossi had won only once (D3, 10L). Salernitana have scored 42 points in this Serie A championship and should they win against Cremonese they would equal their best seasonal points average in the competition (1.18 as in 1947/48, always considering three points for a win). Salernitana have drawn 15 games this Serie A season, no team from the top five European leagues 2022/23 has recorded more draws (on a par with Nantes and Reims).

👉Lineup Cremonese (3-5-2): Sarr; Aiwu, Chiriches, Vasquez; Ghiglione, Pickel, Meité, Galdames, Valeri; Buonaiuto, Ciofani.

👉 Lineup Salernitana (3-4-2-1): Ochoa; Daniliuc, Gyomber, Pirola; Mazzocchi, Coulibaly, Bohinen, Kastanos; Botheim, Candreva; Piatek.

Serie A Standing BEFORE the game:
Inter, 3rd position with 69 points and a positive goal difference of +28

Inter closing the Serie A and keeping focus on the UEFA Champions League Final on Saturday 10 Jun 2023 at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey. Brozovic’s goal in the first half was enough for the Nerazzurri to cliam the last three points of the season. Inter win their seventh game in their last eight games in the league and close their Serie A with 72 points in the standings. Inzaghi’s team is now arithmetically certain of third place and, thanks to the three points earned today.

Torino, on the other hand, closes the championship with 53 points, seeing its eighth-place objective vanish and having to wait for the results of Monza and Bologna (engaged tomorrow on the fields of Atalanta and Lecce) to know its final position in the standings, which can oscillate between the ninth and eleventh notes.

✅    Stats before the game: Inter have not lost against Torino in Serie A since 27 January 2019 (0-1, goal by Izzo in the Piedmontese capital); since then, six wins for the Nerazzurri and a draw (1-1, on 13 March 2022).  Torino have gone unbeaten in six (W2, D4) of their last nine home games against Inter in Serie A, having lost the previous nine.  Torino have won four of their last eight matches against Inter in a second round of Serie A, only losing twice in the set (D2).  Inter could become the first team in Serie A history to finish a 20-team season in third position after losing 12 games; prior to this tournament, the best result for a team with the same number of knockouts in a 38-match tournament was fourth place (five previous ones, most recently Lazio in 2011/12).  Torino have not won any of their last six Serie A home matches (D3, L3); the last time the granata played multiple home games in a row in a single league without registering successes was in 2020/21 (12 on that occasion).

Fiorentina won the Serie A Week 38 game on Friday 2 June 2023 at the Mapei Stadium in Sassuolo, Italy. Sassuolo greets the championship with a defeat, instead Fiorentina wins and now heads straight for Prague where they are expected to play the Conference League final against West Ham on Wednesday. After a goalless first half, Fiorentina broke the deadlock a few seconds into the second half with Arthur Cabral taking advantage of a mistake by the neroverde goalkeeper Russo. Sassuolo returned to the match with a penalty kick converted by Domenico Berardi usually, but Riccardo Saponara, as soon as he entered, invents an amazing goal to bring his team forward. In the final, Saponara himself serves Nico Gonzalez the 3-1 ball with which the match ends. Sassuolo ended up with nine players due to the expulsions of Ruan (double yellow) and Rogerio.

✅    Stats before the game: Sassuolo have scored in all of their last 10 Serie A matches against Fiorentina; against no opponent, the Emilians have never found the net in more consecutive matches in the competition (10 also against Atalanta). Fiorentina have not won any of their last four away matches (D2, L2) in the league; only once, in a single Serie A season, have Viola played five away games without registering successes under the management of Vincenzo Italiano: between August and October 2022 (precisely the first five of this tournament). Fiorentina have conceded 42 goals so far in this tournament; in the event that the Tuscan team were to keep a clean sheet against Sassuolo they would equal their best defensive performance since the beginning of the last decade in a single Serie A season (42 goals conceded also in 2015/16).Sassuolo have lost more than 15 games of the season for the fourth time in 10 Serie A participations: 16 knockouts so far, not so many since 2017/18 (17).
